The Federal Government has approved a ₦75,000 stipend for young Nigerians – apply now!
For the celebration of World Teachers Day in Nigeria, the Federal Government has approved a N75,000 stipend payment for undergraduate education students, with NCE students receiving N50,000.
Teachers’ Day is a special day for recognising teachers and includes celebrations to honour teachers for their exceptional contributions in a specific field or to their community in general.
The Federal Government has approved a stipend of N75,000 per semester for students pursuing degree programmes in Education at Nigerian public universities.
Also, as part of the government’s deliberate effort to attract the best brains into the teaching profession, Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE) students will receive N50,000 as a stipend per semester, as promised by President Muhammadu Buhari last year.
Malam Adamu, Minister of Education, made the announcement on Tuesday at the World Teachers’ Day celebration in Eagle Square, Abuja.
Adamu, whose speech was read by Arc. Sonny Echono, Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Education, said his ministry would work with state governments to ensure students’ automatic employment upon graduation.
“Undergraduate students of B.Ed / B.A. Ed / BSc. Ed in public institutions will receive stipends of N75,000.00 per semester, while NCE students will receive stipends of N50,000.00 per semester,” he said.
The federal government should devise a means for respective state governments to provide automatic employment for NCE graduates at the Basic Education level.
